Thabz Le Madonka says currently kwaito is influencing other genres, especially Hip Hop in South Africa. “The revolution of technology and adaption of the international style affects our genre and all genre. People are comparing kwaito and other genres and they won’t find the same results. We are so proud of our roots n culture and we love kwaito,” said Thabz.

Kwaito boffin Mandoza also believes Kwaito is well and alive. The kwaito pioneer himself says kwaito has improved and manage to compliment other original and African sounds. He highlights the fact that most South African Hip Hop artists are experimenting by fuzzing the original kwaito sound and hip hop and that the fans really appreciate it.

Said the Nkalakata hit maker: “ the New Age Kwaito sub-genre is really working and what I love about it is that they are accommodating the new youth. Their musical style appreciates eKasi paying homage to Kwaito legends. Sooner or later we will have to join in and stop the spreading rumours that there is beef because there is none. I know some people claim Kwaito legends are angry blaming the New Age kwaito pioneers of changing the style. The truth is the new style is a sign of growth and most of us have nothing but admiration for it”
